PROJECTIntroduction [Biosketch]
- Dr. Promod Kumar Patowari is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar, Assam. He has joined NIT Silchar as faculty member in the year 1995.
- He obtained his B.Tech degree (Mechanical Engineering) from NERIST, Itanagar, M.E. (Production Engineering) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. His major areas of research include Advanced/Non-traditional Machining, Micro-Manufacturing and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM).
- He has published around 80 papers in international journals and around 70 papers in international and national conferences. He has published around 25 books and book chapters. He has supervised 13 PhD scholars and 39 MTech students. He along with his students has 3 granted patents. Currently, he is the life member of professional bodies like Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), The Institution of Engineers (India) and Institute of Smart Structures and Systems (ISSS).
