Introduction [Biosketch]

  • Dr. Suprava Jena was born in Cuttack, Odisha, and completed her Higher Secondary Education from SVM Autonomous College, Jagatsinghpur in the year 2009. She has received her Bachelor of Technology degree in Civil Engineering from Orissa Engineering College, Bhubaneswar in the year 2013, and also acquired her Ph. D. degree in the area “Performance assessment of urban street facilities addressing improvement issues of automobile mode” from Department of CE, National Institute of Technology Rourkela in the year 2018. At present, She is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, National Institute of Technology Silchar, Assam, India. She has six years of teaching and research experience in Civil Engineering. Her area of interest is Traffic Engineering, Road Safety, Road users’ behavior and Transportation system planning etc. Prior to joining NIT Silchar, She was working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at MITS, Andhra Pradesh for one year. She has published more than 40 research articles in different International Journals and conferences. She has guided 18 PG students and one PhD scholar. Now She has been the supervisor to 03 PhD scholars [Main Supervisor to 02; Co-supervisor to 01] and 2 PG students. Currently She is working on the areas of Traffic Safety Assessment of urban Indian roads and Promotion of Public Transportation system.
