Introduction [Biosketch]

  • Born in Katigorah of Cachar District in the year 1966. Completed Bachelor of Civil Engineering (Hons) in 1990 from Regional Engineering College (REC) Silchar. Did Master of Engineering in Water Resources Engineering (first position) from Assam Engineering College, Guwahati in 1992. Joined as Lecturer in Applied Mechanics Department of REC Silchar in 1994. Completed Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur in 2003.
  • Visited Denmark Technical University, Copenhagen, Denmark from 01-06-06 to 21-06-06 and Participated in a joint research project “Experimental investigation of flow around a bottom seated full sphere or partially buried sphere with special emphasis on the bed shear stress”. Attended the program focusing on Higher Education Leadership organized on behalf of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) during December 09-13, 2013 in the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA. Attended Study in India Expo 2022: Sri Lanka organized by Study in India, held at Colombo during March 26-28, 2022. Represented NIT Silchar at NAFSA 2022 from May 31-June 3, 2022 at Denver, Colorado, USA. Participated in Indian Higher Education Meet: 2023 Bangladesh on 18-19 March 2023 at Dhaka & 21 March 2023 at Chittagong. Presently holding the post of Professor in Civil Engineering Department and Professor In-Charge (PIC), Training and Placement cell of NIT Silchar.
