Professor Pandey has worked as Head of the Department from 06 July 2007 to 13 July 2010 for tenure of 3 years.  He is a member of SENATE, NIT Silchar since 2005.


Biographical Sketch:

Professor Pandey received his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Banaras Hindu University Institute of Technology, now IIT Varanasi n 1980, M.Tech in Heat Power in 1987 from the same institute in January 1987. He obtained Ph. D. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 1994. He has joined as faculty in Mechanical Engineering in the National Institute of Technology Silchar on 6th January 1987. He has served NIT Silchar as Lecturer from 1987 to 1991 March then, as Assistant /Associate Professor from March 1991 to May 2006, and as Professor from May 2006 till date. He is a professional member of the Indian Society for Technical Education and Member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He is a fellow of the International Journal JERAD since 2009. He chaired a Technical Session on Combustion in IMECE2011 at Denver, USA organized by ASME.
